More and more users are using the latest edition of Windows operating system Windows 7, so many of them are asking which free virus protection is available for Windows 7. The good news is – almost all of them. We will make a quick list of them here.

AVG Free – one of the most popular virus protection free programs is of course available for Windows 7. To tell you the truth, I’m writing this on Windows 7 computer with AVG installed on it.

Avast Free Antivirus – the all new version of Avast is Windows 7 ready. If this is your free virus protection of choice, there is nothing holding you back.

Avira Free – by many considered the best free antivirus software is also available for Windows 7.

Comodo Internet Security – the free version supports also the latest version of MS Windows.

Microsoft Security Essentials – this one goes without saying – if Microsoft wouldn’t provide their free virus protection program for all versions of their own operating system, something would be terribly wrong. If you prefer this antivirus solution and use Windows 7, you are good to go.

Obviously, there are no surprises here. All of the virus protection providers know they have to keep up to date and regularly update their software to be compatible with new versions of operating systems and to keep up with the latest threats.
